About Bibliopages
Bibliopages is dedicated to publishing reading journals that lead book lovers on a personal journey through the best literature of all time.
No matter what genre a reader enjoys - fiction, non-fiction, mystery, or science-fiction - our journals are designed to encourage active participation in the reading process.
The first journal, Read, Remember, Recommend; A Reading Journal for Book Lovers, is helping avid readers everywhere discover the joy of tracking both the books they love and the books they want to read. The journal, written by Rachelle Rogers Knight, guides book lovers through thousands of literature suggestions, while allowing them to record thoughts and keep track of their “to read” list.
Bibliopages was founded in 2007 by Rachelle Rogers Knight, a wife and mother of two who loves to read. The first title, Read, Remember, Recommend; A Reading Journal for Book Lovers was published in late 2007. Bibliopages plans to develop similar journals for children, young adults, and other specific genres of literature, starting with a journal for young adults coming in late Spring 2008.
Knight’s own passion for reading inspired her to develop Read, Remember, Recommend, hoping to help others actively participate in the reading process. The journals aim to create an atmosphere of active participation in the reading process while encouraging readers to truly think about literary works and how they relate to their lives.
Knight says, “My hope is that my journals are a home away from home - providing a place where a reader feels comfortable and can casually record how they feel about the books they are reading. I want them to examine what the story means to them, how they feel about the characters and events, and record the emotions each work brings out. I also hope that by providing many wonderful reading suggestions, they will be exposed to a world of books they might never have read otherwise.”
Supporting the Literary Community
Bibliopages believes that by encouraging active reading and offering great literature suggestions, we can help support the local literary community. Without independent bookstores, millions of otherwise unheard of authors would never have an outlet to share their works. In the world of chain bookstores, there are a select few people who choose what is available to read. If this trend continues, the number of books available will be limited and our rich literary heritage will be in jeopardy. To that end, Bibliopages aims to support independent authors and bookstores.
